Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring to the first meeting?

For your first meeting, just bring yourself and a parent/guardian! We'll provide all the information you need about joining the pack, including forms and next steps.

How much does it cost to join Cub Scouts?

Annual registration fees cover national membership and insurance. Additional costs include uniforms, handbooks, and optional activities. Contact us for current pricing and financial assistance options.

What is the time commitment for parents?

Parents are encouraged to participate in weekly den meetings (about 1 hour) and monthly pack meetings. Additional time commitments are optional and include camping trips, service projects, and volunteering as a den leader.

Do scouts need a uniform right away?

While uniforms are encouraged, new scouts don't need one immediately. You can purchase a uniform from the Scout Shop or online. We recommend waiting until after the first meeting to ensure you get the right size and items.

How do scouts advance in rank?

Scouts advance by completing age-appropriate adventures and requirements outlined in their handbooks. Progress is tracked in Scoutbook, and achievements are recognized at pack meetings.

Can I volunteer even if my schedule is busy?

Absolutely! There are many ways to help, from one-time event assistance to ongoing roles. We appreciate any time you can give, and we work to accommodate various schedules.
